I decided to make a little homemade version of a childhood favorite growing up. We all remember drinking strawberry milk as a kid, right? I’m pretty sure that yummy goodness was full of processed sugars and artificial coloring and flavoring. This version is sweetened with honey and made fresh with ripe strawberries and milk. It’s a total game changer.
Homemade Strawberry Milk
1 cup of ripe, strawberries, chopped
2-3 tablespoons of honey, depending on taste and sweetness of strawberries and your preference
3 tablespoon hot water
Milk (cow, almond, coconut or soy)
In a small cup or bowl, pour honey in and hot water and stir until honey is dissolved and becomes a runny syrup. Pour liquid into a food processor, along with the chopped strawberries and blend until really smooth (about 30 seconds). Place a fine mesh sieve over mason jar and slowly pour strawberry sauce in. You will have to stop in between pours to clean the pulp and seeds from the sieve. Add 2 tablespoons of strawberry sauce to 6 ounces of cold milk and give it a good stir. You can decide if you like more or less sauce.
