Tonight I am taking a basic pizza recipe and adding a twist…I’m making a Spoooooky Ghost Pizza. The ghosts are so simple to make and they add just the right touch of holiday fun to the dinner table.
I made a simple pizza dough using this recipe from Martha Stewart. Store bought pizza dough can be used here too, depending on if your in a time crunch. I rolled out the dough to fit a cookie baking sheet, spread tomato sauce on top, which in my case, tomato-basil spaghetti (store bought) sauce and slices of fresh mozzarella cheese, with the bottoms cut a little wavy, for a ghost-body-look. I used capers for the eyes and sliced black olives for the mouths. Some olives I cut in half to make a smiling ghost (It’s a friendly spooky ghost pizza).
Then I just threw it in the oven for 15 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until golden and bubbly.
Top with fresh basil leaves for more of a classic Margherita style pizza.
