If you’re in the midst of baking pies this year like me, you are going to need a reason to use up all of that excess pie dough. I have the best solution for that…pie pops!
These Chocolate Banana Pie Pops are super easy to make and the filling options are endless, but can I just say, the combination of Nutella and banana is SO good you absolutely must give it a try! It is one of our favorite snack combinations but baked inside a pie pop unearths this richer flavor that evokes oohs and ahhs from kids and adults alike.
If you don’t have Popsicle sticks, just call them pie cookies – both are equally fun and equally just as good.
Let me know what fillings you try! Some of my favorites, besides this chocolate banana combo, is strawberry jam or apple butter.
Chocolate Banana Pie Pops
Pie crust dough
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Roll pie dough out to about a quarter inch thickness. Using a round cookie cutter, punch out 12 circles
Place 6 cut-outs onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Press popsicle stick gently into the bottom of each cut out, about an inch inside. Spoon about a teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each, placing a half inch thick slice of banana on top. Cover with second round pie crust dough cut-out and use fingers to pinch shut, or the end of a fork.
Place cookie sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges and top.
Allow pie pops to cool.
