Mini mummies in a blanket, mini mummies in a blanket, mini mummies in a blanket…try saying or typing that five times fast! These little spooky renditions of the classic Pigs in a Blanket snack are super fun for the Halloween holiday. I love decorating and celebrating different holidays by making memorable items for friends and family to share. Make a ketchup and mustard spider web dip for these cute spooky bites to be dunked in.
1 tube of ready made crescent roll dough
1 package of lil’ smokey sausages
3 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. mustard
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Roll out the ready made crescent roll dough on to a clean surface or cookie sheet. Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1/8 inch thick strips.
Starting at one of the of the sausage, wrap the dough around the sausage, leaving a little space at one end for the face. Finish wrapping the top end and tuck the ends into the back.
Place the mummies on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 9-11 minutes (until golden brown).
Let the mummies cool for 5 minutes. With the tip of a toothpick, make little eyes using mustard or ketchup.
Spooky Spider Web Condiment
In a small bowl, place ketchup, and level out by tapping on the counter top or using the back of a spoon.
Using the mustard make a bulls eye starting with a small circle in the center and making larger circles as you move towards the edge of the bowl (I made 3 circles).
Take the tip of a toothpick and starting in the center circle, slowly drag the tooth pick through the mustard and ketchup to the edge of the bowl. Do this as many times as you like. Remember no two webs are alike!
