Blueberry-Apple Puree

Oliver loves this combination of cooked apples and blueberries. It’s the perfect duo.

For babies 6 months and up.

Blueberry-Apple Puree – leftovers can be frozen.

1 cup fresh, or frozen organic blueberries, rinsed well

3 medium organic apples (I like fuji apples), cored and sliced into quarters

Place fruit into a small sauce pan and fill with a just enough water to cover fruit. Bring to a low boil and cook for about 8 minutes and then add blueberries, cooking for another 3-4 minutes. Apples should be tender when poked with a fork.

Drain liquid, reserving  a small portion for pureeing.

Skin of apple should easily peel off, or by scraping meat from the skin using a spoon.

Poor cooked apples and blueberries into a food processor/blender and blend until smooth, adding a couple of tablespoons of reserved liquid until you reach the perfect consistency for your baby.

Let cool before serving.
