Blueberry, Pear & Sweet Potato Purée

I try my best to make most of Oliver’s food, but I’m definitely by no means a  supermom. Let’s be real, sometimes I need a little help. When I’m in a time crunch, especially in the case when we’re on the go, I grab for a pre-packaged baby food. Oliver loves Plum’s baby food pouch, in the blueberry, pear and purple sweet potato combo. He’ll suck the pouch down like it’s nothing.

This is my attempt to emulate that flavor combination at home in the kitchen. It was nearly impossible for me to find a purple sweet potato, but I did however have a bag full of  yummy regular ones.

Oliver loved it, and I dare say, loved it more than the original version;)

Blueberry, Pear and Sweet Potato For 6 months and up.

1 cup organic blueberries, frozen or fresh

1 large ripe organic Bartlett pear, cored and sliced into cubes

1 small organic sweet potato, skinned and sliced into cubes

Place all ingredients into a baby food maker, like a Beaba and hit start. Once it’s cooked, puree it until smooth, or desired consistency.

If you have a regular steamer, then place ingredients inside the steamer and cook for 20 minutes, or until soft.

Drain off part of the liquid, reserving some for blending, if needed.

Pour steamed ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add a little reserved liquid until it reaches desired consistency.
